Hi! My Name is Laura Garrett I am 29 years old, a loving mother of a 5 year old little boy and a wife of 4 years. I was diagnosed on March 16th 2015 with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma ( Breast Cancer) only 10% of diagnosed breast cancer patients have this form of cancer.  My new journey starts on April 9th 2015,  I will have a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, after four weeks of recovery I will start weekly chemo treatments.  My Insurance does not cover our local treatment facilities, resulting in weekly trips 3 hours away in Murray Ut for my treatments and follow up appointments. We will have to miss a great deal of work during my journy back and fourth for our trips. So this is what the money will go toward to help us, is our transportation, monthly bills and medical expenses that my insurance does not cover and time away from work not being able to make money to pay such bills. Cancer treatment is very expensive and not everything is coverd by our insurance so anything will help in this long journey in cancer land.
I am very blessed and ready to kick cancer in the butt!!!

From our family to yours God Bless and Thank you. :)

Today is a very special, emotional day for me and my family. Today is my last chemo treatment!! I have had a long time to think about life in general and I know I am truly blessed even in this horrible situation, that knowing may people don't make it this far in life let alone dealing with cancer. I have had the opportunity to meet some amazing people fighting this horrible disease, and some who have survived to tell their story. I am very happy to report that I have made it I survived!! I still have a very long road in front of me in the next year, from radiation next month to two surgeries next year. I know that I will continue to hope for a cure, no one needs to go through this, because it is truly hell! I will miss the sweet ladies I have met here while hooked up to chemo and look forward to meeting new people who either are going through it, concurred it or someone who wants to hear my story! I want to say thank you for all who has donated to my cause, who have knelt and prayed for me and my family, I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart and will never forget any of you. As I am sitting here today I find myself tearing up because I will walk out of here as a survivor, a fighter, and a voice about breast cancer! So having said that ladies you are the only one who knows your body, please take the time every day to check for lumps or anything out of the ordinary. By being pro active if there is anything wrong you can catch it early, you can save your own life!

I am so very happy that my family is here to support me on the very special day with me!!

I wear PINK for me. I wear PINK for breast cancer awareness.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Yesterday I marked my half way point through this crazy chemo journey!!!! It may only seem like it is something small but to me it's a huge victory. I have met so many new people up there going through much worse than me and most way older than me but with such high hopes at recovery which makes me cry every time. Then I have these complete strangers willing to help me in any way possible, that is so humbling and extremely emotional to me knowing that I am in peoples thoughts and prayers. I have been very open, no sugar coating my experience at any point thus far. The bad days is just that horrible and want to crawl under a rock, but the good days is what keeps a smile on my face knowing I do get to see another day!! I have continued to work as much as possible, but that is becoming less due to how long it is taking me to recover from my round of chemo. I am very blessed, very thankful for all the kind thoughts messages and donations because that is what is keeping me positive knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I want to thank all my friends and family that has helped me even on my CRAZY days or the days I just cry. It has meant the world to me to have you in my life especially my son simply because he is my world keeps me going with all the sweet words. I also want to let you all know if you have a question for me I am more than willing to answer just let me know.

Please Share and like my post!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. GOD BLESS

So as I sit here processing all my thoughts and feelings about what is all going on in my life, the good, the bad and everything in between. I find myself getting very emotional lately, I recently printed off pictures of my son and I and I totally lost it, multiple times I want to live to be old and watch him grow up and even thinking of it now I am crying. Life is not fair, it's hard, challenging, and full of crazy turns, I am at the stage where everything can make me cry! I look at everything in such a different way now that I am in this horrible situation, and I mean horrible! I have just lost my taste for things and that is a very new nasty part of this chemo. Why did the taste have to go? I mean let me keep something, so now as try and choke down food I realize how we take things and people for granted like taste and feeling good. The tiredness is getting worse or on days I used to never be tired like today I am extremely tired and would love nothing more than a nap, but I have work to do. Next week I will be half way through chemo and even closer to being done! I still can not say thank you enough for everyone's donations, thoughts and prayers it keeps me going on bad day's knowing I can make it, I can survive, life is not perfect and I have loved more than I have ever loved before in my entire life!! I will continue to love with all my heart and soul knowing we are not promised tomorrow.
