Leukaemia treatment for Zohan

Donation protected
We are urgently requesting assistance for Shams Zohan, who needs support for medical treatment in the next 2-3 weeks.

Zohan was diagnosed with a complex case of leukaemia at the age of only 32, and he needs money for a bone marrow transplant and additional chemotheraphy treatments.

So far Zohan’s family have incurred THB 1.1 million ($35,885) of expenses for chemotherapy treatment in the last three weeks. The hospital estimates the he has to stay in the hospital for 2 additional months for chemotherapy.

On top of that, he has received an estimate for bone marrow transplant for THB 6.2 million ($202,260), which requires a 100% deposit before the procedure starts in 2-3 weeks.

His family is totally worn out and has tried to arrange the money from asset selling and mortgage loans. They are well off, but not as much as this treatment requires.

Zohan came to Thailand because after he was admitted in a local hospital for a week, the doctor advised him to go abroad and have better treatment. The Bangladeshi Hospital was not able to handle such a complex case.

Zohan’s white blood cell count at one point fell to 300, and his treatment is still progressing.

Hospital Name: Bumrungrad International Hospital, Bangkok

Zohan is a brilliant father and friend and is very helpful to everyone he knows. He does charity work in his free time, supports his family and has many friends all around the world. He is an amazingly friendly and positive person who loves to spend his time cooking, watching movies and making time lapse videos.

He travelled to the UK to study for his MSC when he was just 24, where he achieved a Distinction, he has a wife named Fargana, a son named Afraaz and he recently had a second child, his daughter Anfah.

Here is a message from his wife, Fargana Shafi Shovon:

‘Zohan is more than a life partner. He is a friend; he is a mentor and above all he is the best father a mom can wish for her children. He is a busy banker and at the same time he has given plenty of time to me and his parents. We are living in a joint family. He is the youngest brother in the house of three and the apple of everyone’s eye. He loves to do voluntary activities like charity work, working in camps which give people free eye treatment, animal farming and many more. Zohan has a kind heart, is a loving husband and a good human being. We completed our family this year with a son and daughter as planned and he has big dreams for his children. I really can’t find an answer as to why the Almighty God has given him this disease. I believe he is the strongest man and God tests the bravest. He is not losing his nerve, and nor am I. I believe we will fight the disease together with God’s will and come back stronger.’
