Let's Help Rodrikus Heal!

My lovely friend, Rodrikus Springfield, has been lucky enough to get a kidney and pancreas transplant!  After a shorter wait than expected, he got the call!  He is in surgery in Philadelphia right now.  His wife, Jacqueline, is staying at the hospital this week.

For those of you who don't know about transplants, one of the most important things in this process is a good period for healing.  That healing process may require various rehabilitations, travel, and general extra costs.  It's also possible that R may not be able to return to their apartment right away, as there is not elevator access. 

R and S live in Brooklyn, but their families are in Tennessee. Given that the transplant doctor is in Philly, there may also be additional travel. In addition, both R and S are both actors, so if they don't work, they don't get paid.

I have received Jacqueline's permission to do this.  100% of the funds will go to support R's recovery.  Should there be extra money, it will be donated to a transplant charity of R's choosing.

All is going really well.  Rick had a super successful surgery and the doctors are really pleased.  He has gotten out of bed, which is a huge sign of success!  There have been other great markers, which Jacquie will share. The hard work is just starting but part one has been good.
