Hello to family and friends of Maureen (Matyskiela) Long!
Maureen was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma in June 2016. Since then she has undergone multiple surgeries and immunotherapy treatments. Unfortunately, the treatments have left her in pain, exhausted and too weak to return to work.
Maureen is one of the kindest, most generous people on the planet. She has always taken care of everyone around her: whether as a mother, spouse, sister, friend, Childcare-giver, an administrative assistant for the Episcopal Diocese, or working in the mental health field. She has been a Girl Scout Leader for 12 years, helping dozens of girls grow into strong, smart, kind young women. She has volunteered time at her church and at her children's schools. She cared for her mother-in-law for years in her home. She is always there for a friend or family member in need.
Now it's our turn to help Maureen.
Maureen's disability insurance may run out at the end of this month, and the Longs will also have to start paying out-of-pocket for Health Insurance at that point. Their family has ongoing medical expenses for doctor appointments and treatments. Maureen's husband, Russell, is working two jobs, but finances will be a real challenge.
PLEASE HELP us alleviate some of the worry and stress for the Long family at a time when they need to focus on taking care of each other and getting Maureen well!!
