Let’s Get Australia’s Skillaroos To ABU DHABI

43 of Australia’s best, young, talented tradespeople and their mentors will travel to Abu Dhabi this October to represent Australia, to compete against the world’s elite counterparts at the 44th WorldSkills International competition.

Each Skillaroo has dedicated the past 2 years perfecting their skill. Their status as world-class competitors wouldn’t have been possible without the support of their mentors, tutors, family, friends and a nationwide volunteer and partner network. To get to this point, the Skillaroos have endured a gruelling series of qualifying stages and will now go on to compete in the worlds competitions.


In order to achieve their best shot at success, we’re looking for funding from proud supporters like you, who want to be part of the journey to success of our Skillaroos in Abu Dhabi. Coming 12th out of 77 countries in the last international competitions, they need your support to continue their success for themselves, their teams, supporters and country.

The Skillaroos have worked extremely hard for the opportunity to showcase their elite skills at the world’s most prestigious trade competition for young people. Each Skillaroo deserves the chance to compete at the best of their abilities and with their country behind them. They will represent Australia as a nation that prides itself in young talent and social enterprise.

Who are Team Australia?

The Skillaroos comprise 18 young people from across Australia, known as the Skillaroos who will compete in 17 skills including bricklaying, patisserie and confectionery, heavy vehicle mechanics, hairdressing, landscape gardening, refrigeration and air-conditioning, carpentry, wall and floor tiling.

They will be supported by 25 industry expert mentors and team managers.

But all this costs money - it will cost over $1 million dollars to send Team Australia to Abu Dhabi and we need your help!
