Let’s Get Brenda Better

In March 2017 my mom Brenda, tripped, fell and hit her head. Two weeks later she was in the ER and had suffered a stroke. Doctors initially said she should have a full recovery and be back on her feet in no time. As she was in the hospital for observation, things got worse and she was in the ICU for a week, and then in 2 different rehab facilities for a total of 33 days. Brenda had to completely relearn how to walk, talk, eat and function. It was one of the hardest times in her life. (Mine too).   
    For anyone who knows Brenda, knows her life is about Jesus, her family, friends, cooking and hosting people at her house. Since her stroke, she hasn’t been able to safely cook, or host parties like she loves doing or even drive herself to the grocery store. 
   Over the last two years, my mom has been to tons of different doctors, physical and occupational therapists and swims a couple times a week.  As of recently, all the doctors said “sorry there’s nothing we can do to help you get better” until my mom remembered a Dr she worked with at Dr Bramens. He is a  functional neurologist. People come from all over the world to this doctor seeking help with “complicated neurological conditions”
 They made an appointment, he said he can help and she started her two weeks of intense therapy this past Monday July 8. 
    This doctor has given us hope again that my mom will recover some of not most of her physical abilities. She has been dizzy and nauseous for 2 years and her left side of her body shakes. The doctor is pretty positive he can help her get better. 
   This is where you come in. This treatment is obviously not covered by insurance and is around $5,000-$6,000 a week. The doctor has said 2 weeks of treatment should be what she needs. 
   My parents have spent their lives serving other people and Jesus. Thousands of people’s lives have been changed or impacted because of my parents. They would never ask for financial help in this, so I am . Friends of Jerry and Brenda, it would mean so much to hear from you first of all. Words of encouragement because these therapies are extremely exhausting would mean the world to both of them. But also financial help would be amazing. So I will leave it here.
