Let's Embitter Antifreeze

My name is Lori McCall and I live in Windsor Ontario.  I lost 2 beautiful Golden Retrievers to antifreeze poisoning. I was in Muskoka with my dogs when a neighbour put out bread soaked in antifreeze to kill mice that were on her property, close to ours.

I learned that antifreeze is sweet smelling and sweet tasting.  I learned that 17 states in the USA have mandated a bittering agent be added to antifreeze. Also, British Columbia. I want to add Ontario to this list.

My local MPP, Lisa Gretzky has helped me create a petition that will be sent to all 1300 veterinarians in Ontario for their clients to sign. Ms. Gretzky will take the petitions to Queen's Park in the fall. I am raising money to cover the costs of this campaign, namely printing, postage and travel. Any excess funds will be donated to The Canadian Golden Retriever Adoption Service Inc. 

I don't  want another animal to go through the painful death that my two beautiful dogs did. The passing of such a bill will help save the lives of our pets and many wild animals as well. 

I miss these dogs so much and I will be so thankful to have some good come out of this terrible tragedy.
