Let’s Bring Lucky Home

Donation protected
Mr. Lucky is a one of a kind companion. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting this little guy, knows just how very special he is to our family. He is the most loving and wonderful pet we could have ever asked for. 15 years ago we found this little guy in a red wheel barrow as a victim of a puppy mill. Despite having every single bug and illness in the book, we brought this gorgeous boy into our lives with open arms and he has been a fundamental member of our little family ever since. Lucky brings light and joy into any room he makes his way into. He is always seeking out to give love and his happiness and excitement is contagious to anyone having a rough day. Our little Lucky is the most spoiled and well cared for pup in the world. He is a super star patient at Palm View Animal hospital and always passes Dr. Waldie’s annual exams with flying colors. Even at his age he has always been one of the healthiest pups around. He is an indoor dog and loves his little bed next to mommy and can’t call it a night without his nighttime sweater and blankey.

On Sunday night our Mr. Lucky caught us completely by surprise.  Mr. Lucky fainted and got stiff he lost control of his urine and had an accident. Upon contacting the emergency hospital Lucky became responsive and ate and drank water. The next morning we took him into Palm View Animal Hospital and he was diagnosed with pneumonia and began treatment with antibiotics. Unfortunately, he did not respond to treatment and on Wednesday morning when preparing to take him into the cardiologist to rule out syncope,  he had a second episode. Similarly to the first incident he began to faint and get stiff and lost control of his bowel movements.

Since Wednesday morning Lucky has been receiving treatment at Leader animal hospital in the ICU. Lucky is being treated for severe pneumonia. He is struggling breathing and is dependent on the oxygen chamber cages at Leader Hospital. Lucky is also receiving IV administered antibiotics and nausea medication. He is also receiving nebulizer therapy treatments every six hours. Lucky’s treatments are running at a rate of $1,500 per day. Lucky is still not in a stable enough position to be independent from the oxygen chamber. The doctors treating Mr. Lucky are still not satisfied with the results from the antibiotic treatment and ordered additional respiratory panels to be able to get a more definitive prognosis and be able to administer a more specific antibiotic course of treatment. The results of this panel take five days to be examined. Therefore, if the current regiment of treatment continues to remain stagnant we could be looking at a lengthy stay. With the cost of his current treatment, the financial burden is proving to be heavily significant.

These medical costs were completely unexpected and we want to be able to provide Lucky with all the care he needs and deserves. At this time we are asking for any type of support you all can offer to help bring Mr. Lucky home. Any donations will make the world of a difference no matter how big or small. We thank you for supporting and loving Mr. Lucky and our family.

Most importantly we ask for everyone to send their prayers to Mr. Lucky. We know our boy is a fighter and with your support and God’s power we know he will make it through this!
