Let us dream and transform our End-of-Life Culture

Dreaming & Healing (Soñando y Sanando) emerged from an unexpected conversation at a coffee shop in San Miguel de Allende (SMA), México, in early 2016. This faint idea manifested into the meeting place for transpersonal dreamers and healers across the globe in SMA in March of 2017, hosting over 50 local, regional, and international attendees.

Meet Wilka, Karen, Tariq, and Sakura, pictured here with colleagues Lauren and Hsuieh Dean at the first biennial Dreaming & Healing (D&H) conference in 2017. As transpersonal psychology colleagues, co-mentors, and long-time friends, we come together from countries around the world.

"The Dreaming & Healing Conference of 2017 was a great experience for me, body, mind and spirit. The presentation was professional, intimate and full of information that assisted me in remembering and using my dream life to enhance my waking life.  A first class conference in venue and content with an inspired and intuitive approach, reflected in the presenters and staff, successfully dedicated to helping us heal ourselves and each other."
- June S. Denver, CO

The 2nd Biennial Dreaming & Healing Conference: Dreaming the Arc of Life will take place in San Miguel de Allende, México, this coming March 21-29, 2019, and will include a Pre-Conference: The Grace in Aging in collaboration with local, regional, national, and international experts in the fields of Gerontology, Thanatology, End-of-Life Care, Preventive Medicine, and Alternative Health Care.  Please visit our website: www.dreamingandhealing.org

"Wonderful conference, so much good energy and growth. So many wonderful people. You did a great job. The hotel was wonderful. Everything worked perfectly!"
- Didi F. - Amherst, MA

Our volunteer team is preparing for a large number of international participants and presenters to take part this year. From global speakers to intensive workshops, this year’s conference will inspire us all to reimagine the ways in which our dreams allow for healing and integration throughout our lives.  We have planned 8 exhilarating days of hands-on experiential activities, somatic exercises, circle work, engaging dialogue, and TEDx style inspired talks from established experts. Your donation will help launch and support this 2nd biennial Dreaming & Healing Conference coming up in March 2019.

"The D&H workshops I attended not only deepened my work but opened connections that I am now exploring under Wilka’s wise guidance. In virtual reality one can be everywhere without traveling but you could never have experienced the warmth of the people in San Miguel de Allende nor the real time live connections established by meeting fellow travelers at the conference. I received profound insights by attending both the conference and exploring charming San Miguel de Allende."
- Ivette L. - Brasil

What started in 2017 as a platform to practice hands-on dreamwork exercises, circle work, creative and experiential activities to gain greater insight into our dreams, hopes and projections, our waking life, and the development of ourselves in order to live healthier and more fulfilling lives as individuals, in community, and in relationship with the Earth, has now in 2019 become the foundation for something greater

Dreaming & Healing has become the bedrock for evolving our loss, grief, and end-of-life culture locally and globally.

It is our intention to raise funds not just to support the continuation of our biennial conference, to take place this March 2019 and onward biennially, but to collaborate with international educators and professionals in the field and make other educational programs possible and accessible nationally and internationally.

A movement of this scale requires significant funds to organize.  We want to create the best experience for everyone involved, and we are asking for your help.  The donations will support the following:

- scholarships
- meals for volunteers, facilitators, instructors, presenters
- transportation for volunteers, facilitators, instructors, presenters
- lodging for facilitators, instructors, presenters
- grief-tending & end-of-life care training programs

Our mission
is to provide opportunities and sacred space for people to explore and experience healing and self-discovery, as well as their personal call to service, through unique, creative, health-promoting, alternative, somatic and nature-based modalities.

Dreaming & Healing is collaborating with several international non-profit organizations to bring end-of-life and hospice training and care to San Miguel de Allende and the region, with the goal of transforming our death culture and contribute to this global shift.  We are specifically gearing to offer guidance and instruction to nurses-in-training, young nurses starting out, home care aides, home assistants, and anyone interested in accompanying people with chronic illness, in palliative care, and through end-of-life, as well as grieving people and the bereaved.

We envision:

- Educational gatherings with scholarships for caregivers, home attendants, home care aides, young nurses and geriatric specialists still in training

- Engaging young professionals in the field of health care before they get conditioned by more traditional trends in the field

- Shifting the culture around end-of-life care toward a conscious embrace of mortality, loss, quality of life in aging, human rights at end of life, and aging, illness and death with dignity

We plan to offer touring trainings at least 4 times a year, to make this education available to all, and to offer scholarships and other subsidies in order to make it possible.

This movement is organized and developed by dedicated people who are passionate about bringing healing into the world. All of us—organizers, facilitators, presenters, contributors—are working as volunteers, and your donation will help to make our programs a continued magical success for the wellbeing of all!
