Help David Pitts go for GOLD!

Greetings all! I started this GoFundMe page for my friend, David Pitts, who is a 56-year-old Master’s Track and Field Athlete. For those of you who know him well, you are probably aware that he has been an assistant coach for track at Mehlville High School for the past seven years, is the Lead Pastor at ROC Ministries, and is an adjunct instructor in the Humanities division at Missouri Baptist University.
This past track season, he trained for five months, on his own, in order to begin competing in the 400m run, preparing for his first competition in 30 years! He traveled to Spokane, WA to compete in the USATF Masters National Championships and won the gold medal with a time of 54.58. A month later, he traveled to Little Rock, AR to compete in the Arkansas Senior Olympics in order to qualify for the National Senior Games this year. While there, he won gold in both the 200m and the 400m. His time of 54.58 in the 400m held on to the end of the season to give him the #1 world ranking in the M55 400m.

After experiencing this type of success, David is dedicated more than ever to continue this journey and to break the world record in his age group for the 400m run. Below are the competitions in which he has recently competed and others he has scheduled:
USATF MASTERS INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS – MARCH 1-3 – WINSTON-SALEM, NC - NATIONAL CHAMPION with a time of 57.1!
WMA INDOOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – MARCH 24-30 – TORUN, POLAND - Bronze medalist in the 400m (55.6), 200m (25.03), and 4x200m relay.
David finished the indoor season ranked #3 in the world, in the 400m and 200m.
ST. LOUIS SENIOR OLYMPICS - MAY 27 - St. Louis, MO - Principia School
MISSOURI SENIOR GAMES - JUNE 8 - Columbia, MO - MU.
NATIONAL SENIOR GAMES – JUNE 15-20 – ALBUQUERQUE, NM
USATF MASTERS OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS – JULY 11-14 - IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY – AMES, IOWA
David is deeply passionate about pushing himself further, having now competed on the world stage. Competing at this level is costly, and the only obstacle preventing him from further competitions, is the ability to pay for the expenses to get him there. Expenses include: entry/registration fees, hotel rooms, transportation (including all airfare, car rentals, train rides, taxis, etc.), and meals.
The goal is to raise $7,500, which covers only the essentials noted above. With your help, no matter how modest a contribution, every little bit will help David realize his goals! All funds received will go toward competition related expenses only. Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments and I’d be happy to supply specific details to the best of my ability.
