Let's help Cynthia!

Donation protected
Following two surgeries in May of this year for double hernias, Cynthia was diagnosed with Acromegaly (usually a benign tumour on the pituitary that plays havoc with growth hormone, thus mimicking a variety of symptoms that are often overlooked for years...in her case, at least a decade).  Her prognosis is good but medication may be life long, depending on the outcome of this autumn’s transsphenoidal surgery (through the nostril).

In many cases, removal of the entire tumour is delicate due to proximity to the optic nerve and carotid artery. Her monthly injection costs approximately $2000 for each shot and fortunately, she's been approved this year for the Trillium Drug Program which covers a percentage.  She just heard the drug manufacturer will underwrite the difference but her ability to earn remains a challenge while she awaits her surgery date.

Cynthia is a self-employed, sole supporter with no benefits. She's worked for three decades helping grassroots charities so she's well aware of peoples' extraordinary generosity and yet still amazed and eternally grateful to be the recipient of your support!
