Let’s Give Ed A Leg Up!

It all started back in June with a sunburned toe. Normally, that might not be a big deal. But “normal” isn’t a word often used to describe the man (and the myth) that is Ed Sheridan. When he had Lyme disease in 2013 it wasn’t your “normal” bout of Lyme.  Four weeks in the hospital on a myriad of antibiotics, and two weeks in rehab helped Ed re-learn how to walk, talk, and eat. He went back to being the musician, entertainer, friend, and family guy we all know and love. Hallelujah!

In his most recent health challenge, Ed’s sunburned toe wouldn’t heal due to ongoing complications from diabetes. The toe got infected, and eventually resulted in multiple hospitalizations for IV antibiotics beginning in September. In mid October Ed had his middle toe amputated along with a vascular bypass to ensure adequate blood flow to the healing foot. After much pain and poor healing it was discovered that the infection had spread to his first two toes. His doctors had to remove those toes in November in order to control the infection.

In spite of this ordeal and with full humor intact, Ed now claims he can now “only count to 17.”

Ed had to stop working in mid September and is currently on unpaid family leave. At his post op checkup the surgeon said Ed would be out through at least the end of December. The doctor couldn’t establish a timeline for his return to work as recovery can take “a few or many months”.

This GoFundMe page has been established to help offset the financial challenges that have arisen due to Ed’s inability to return to work at this point. Any donations to help bring the family some peace of mind during this stressful time of uncertainty would be greatly appreciated. If you would prefer to donate by check please mail to:
