Let's Get John on His Feet Again

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Patrons of Osta’s Lebanese Cuisine:

You may have seen the notice in the window of our favorite restaurant that Osta’s is closed indefinitely. John Aouad, Sr. broke his ankle (in 3 places!) and no-one knows when he will be able to get back to work. His accident is a disaster for those of us who love his food, but it is an even greater disaster for his family.

John is the only chef at Osta’s. Osta’s is the only source of income for John and Diane. Every day that passes is another day they fall farther behind.

Due to the nature of the accident, it is possible that John may not be entitled to any accident insurance money. His medical insurance may cover most of the cost of the medical treatment, but it won’t pay their mortgage, or the rent on the restaurant, or their food or utility bills. As the owners of the restaurant, they won’t receive unemployment benefits.

This is an unfortunate opportunity for us to let the Aouad family know how important they are to their friends, family, neighbors, and customers.

Please help us keep this family afloat and this restaurant in business.

Thank you!

While this is by no means a guarantee, donations on GoFundMe are simply considered to be "personal gifts" which are not, for the most part, taxed as income in the US.
