Let's Bless Kara Hiday

It is a great privilege for us as a community of faith to rally around many who are navigating through difficult circumstances as we approach the holidays. We have that very opportunity to hold one of our own up in prayer in the coming weeks. Kara Hiday, our Middle School Vice Principal, received a difficult report from her doctor following a routine procedure several weeks ago. The doctors found a pre-cancerous mass in her abdominal area which will result in her undergoing a very invasive surgical procedure to remove the mass and some of the areas of the surrounding organs that have been affected. Her surgery is scheduled for December 5th and she will spend 6-8 weeks following the procedure in recovery at home. I would ask for your prayers, support, and respect of privacy for Mrs. Hiday and her family leading up to, during, and following the surgery.
 
As many of you know, Kara Hiday is the last person who would ask for anything on her own behalf. She is the very definition of a servant and I am grateful that she brings that heart to everything she does at Horizon Christian School. I am also thankful that we, as a community, have the opportunity to rally around Kara, her husband Brad, and their seven children to be a blessing during this time.
