On the 4th of December 2016, Michael Baghdadi was involved in a serious Jet-ski accident on the Georges River, that not only changed his life but the life of his family forever.  Michael sustained very serious injuries in this freak accident which has left him with a broken neck and crushed spine and no feeling to his body from the belly button down.

2 months on, Michael is getting better and stronger everyday, has a postive attitude to the situation, and trying his best to recover. He spends alot of time in rehab learning wheelchair skills and in the gym to build up his strength and core stability but it is still a long road to go in his recovery process.

Michaels plan is to get back into working in his performance car business, Micks Motorsport  to support his family,  back racing when he can, plus also to travel and enjoy time with his family and friends.

Our wish is to make the transition into his new life as easy as possible and for him to have every opportunity to live life, like he use to.

Brett from GCG  Turbos found a company in the USA that makes a Robotic Mobilisation device that would enable Mick to not be confined to his wheechair and to be able to stand upright and move around freely.  This would allow Mick to live and work as independently as possible.

With their smaller size than a standard wheelchair it gives greater access to more areas and also would allow him to be able to do everyday task like he was able to do before the accident and that, sitting in a wheelchair doesn't enable you to.

The current cost for a TEK RMD is $25,000 USD plus shipping and a 6 month wait so we are hoping to get one  ordered and be ready for when Mick will be going home full time.

Mick is one of the most genuine, caring guys that you will ever meet, he will help out any one he can without a second thought and go above and beyond to make sure everyone around him is looked after.

This is our way of giving back to him, with medical and rehabilitation costs plus also the cost of modifying his home and cars we thought this would be a nice way to give him and his family a gift that will help him live as normal as possible.

Any donation big or small would be amazing to receive...Every dollar helps us to reach the target!

From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you for caring and chipping in to make Micks life a little easier at this difficult time.

Check out the website http://www.matiarobotics.com for more information and videos on the TEK RMD device and see how it is changing the lives of people living as paraplegics.
