Leslie's Fight to Live

Donation protected

The unthinkable has become a reality for our beautiful, sweet Leslie and her precious family (Wes and James.)  This past Sunday, December 3rd 2017, after a several month's long battle with a persistant cough, nausea and abdominal pain, Leslie was admitted into the hospital.  It would be the following morning that the words she never wanted to hear would be said.  "Your cancer is back."  In 2012 Leslie battled colorectal cancer and won.  Unfortunately, her success would be short lived.  She has now been diagnosed with metastatic cancer to the liver, ureters and lungs.  Without treatment, her prognosis is bleak and it is unlikely she will make it to her next birthday.  With treatment, though the prognosis is still not great, it is better than a mere months.  We are hopeful that treatment will bide her the time needed for a major medical breakthrough to occur or at the very least, more precious time with her son and husband.

Even with health insurance, Leslie and her husband are looking at out-of-pocket expenses in excess of $100,000 over the next two years.  Many of you have asked how you can help, so this GoFundMe was started.  Leslie and her husband are a single income family and Leslie homeschools their son full time.  Wes will have to miss work to take Leslie to her appointments, care for her when she is unable to care for herself and to take care of James' needs as well.  Any amount you are able to give would be so very appreciated.  The funds raised will be used to offset medical costs and Wes' time off of work while Leslie is undergoing chemotherapy.  Please consider donating to help ease the financial burden on this amazing family so they are able to focus on Leslie and her needs in the upcoming months.

Leslie, affectionately known by her family as Sessie, is the light and love of our lives. She is a young 43 years old.  She is a graduate of Mainland High School in Daytona Beach and a former employee of Publix.  She is wife to Wes, mother to 11 year old James, daughter to Dee, sister to Shelly and Laurie, Aunt to Kristen, Kyle, Katie and Ethan and adored by her many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces, and extended family. We are begging you to please lift Leslie up in your prayers and if you can find it in your heart to donate, please do.  GoFundMe works by sharing, so even if you are unable to give, please, please share.  Share on any groups you belong to, share with your friends and family and share multiple times.  If everyone who reads this campaign donates just $1, we could meet our goal in less than a week.  No amount is too small.

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE:
We know this is a difficult time of the year for most people financially, but we have to let you know that time is most certainly not on Leslie's side.  Leslie is battling a rapidly progressive cancer and without IMMEDIATE intervention, she will die.  Leslie is 43 years old.  She has an 11 year old child.  Please act now.

We will not let Leslie fight this battle alone.  Our family will band together and we will go to war for our girl.  We ask that you stand beside us and join us as we fight against this ugly monster called cancer.  #LesliesFight

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your prayers, support and love.
