Lesley De Jesus

By now, most of us have already heard about the tragic loss of Lesley de Jesus. Yesterday, while painting with the whole family inside a west side church, Lesley was tragically killed. Her car was being stolen and her husband was trying to intervene, she was running out to come help out and got hit, not once but twice, all of this in front of her two children. She was killed senselessly.  Her husband also got hurt since the person driving the vehicle dragged him with the car. 
Lesley leaves behind two kids, a 15 year old daughter and a 10 year old boy. This weekend was supposed to be full of joy since the family was going to celebrate the daughter's 15th birthday, instead they are left to bury their mother. Lesley was a strong woman that loved her children so much she was willing to do anything to raise them properly.  She came from Puerto Rico a couple years ago escaping the violence and poverty so that she can give her family a better life here in Cleveland. The children are devastated to say the least and her husband is not only trying to recuperate from his injuries but also trying to console the two kids they share. This fundraiser is to benefit Jesus and the kids. Nothing will ever return their mother to them but maybe providing some financial support in this time of need would help alleviate some of the worries this horrible tragedy has caused.
