Les Battles Lymphoma

Donation protected
On December 19, 2016 our beloved Lester of only 28 years of age was diagnosed with 'Advanced Stage Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma'. This variant of Hodgkin's Lymphoma has a diffused large B-Cell and is a very aggressive cancer of the blood. After 6 excruciatingly long months of unexplainable pain, 40 pound weight loss, and frequent visits to the Emergency Rooms & Urgent Cares in his area - his puzzling discomfort was finally solved; it was cancer. Lester acted as quickly as possible, and is currently in the second state of his treatment. Treatments at this point are divided into 6 different 'rounds' of Chemotherapy called R-EPOCH. Masses of cancer were found all over his body, and the treatments to eliminate these require him to be hospitalized for 5-6 days in a row, per round. During these week-long rounds, he is hooked up to Chemo lines 24 hours a day, receiving unrelenting (and extremely uncomfortable) treatment. Due to the severe side-effects of his Chemo treatment, Lester is unable to work at this time. Despite the ambiguity of his situation, his employment filed him for short-term disability before his diagnosis was even known, and only approved him for 30 days worth of pay. Since Lester is 2 months away from his 1 year mark of employment, they also chose to take him off payroll. This, of course, excludes him from receiving medical insurance through his company. Lester is now completely responsible for his medical bills, co-pays, and to satisfy the out of pocket maximum for both 2016 & 2017. This is the hardest situation our family has ever faced, and we will be eternally grateful for any help that we receive at this time. My heart shatters every time I see Lester in this debilitated state. We have a one year old daughter that cries 'mama' when she doesn't get to go home to her parents because they're at the hospital and I have him, the love of my life, telling me that he's afraid. I am currently employed full time and attempting to split myself in 3. As his caregiver, girlfriend, and mother of his child - I ask not only for financial help, but for support through prayer and positivity to help us get through this emotional and trying time to get our Lester healthy and home to his 1 year old daughter - who is taking this the hardest of all. The look of sadness on her face when she receives unfamiliar rejection as she raises her tiny arms to be held by her Dada is absolutely heartbreaking. Any show of support to our family at this time will be greatly appreciated.
