Leon's medical and recovery fund

Dear friends,
I am very sad and worried for our dear friend Leon. While vacationing in Japan last week with few of his friends, Leon had pool side accident and sustained serious neck and spinal cord injury. He was unconscious and taken immediately to hospital and had surgery to stabilize his cervical (neck) spine. He is in Intensive Care Unit and remains sedated. He will require multiple surgeries in coming days and weeks. His spinal cord injury is very serious, and his recovery is unknown and uncertain at this time. He is alive and intermittently conscious. His life is saved, but there is a concern for him being paralyzed neck down. We want to remain positive and optimistic for his recovery.
As you can imagine, there will be significant financial burden for Leon and his wife Leeds as they face very difficult long road to recovery -- medical bills, rehabilitation bills, medications, medical equipments, transportation (Leon and Leeds live in Singapore. Accident occured in Japan and they will likely remain in hospital in Japan for a while), day-to-day living cost, lost wages, etc.
Leon just got married to his long-time fiance Leeds last year. They adopted a child last year. Leon is an internationally renowned public health scientist and has worked in numerous countries (Southeast Asia, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Europe, South America) -- developing and advancing vaccines.
I have known Leon since we met in college (back in 1994). He is a people-loving, compassionate, adventurous, fun-loving person. He is artistic, athletic (swimmer), intelligent (PhD), goofy, and a man of many talents (cooking, art, photography, science).

髄損傷で首から下が動かない大変な状況です。手術で命は安全、でもこの後の神経の回復がとても心配です。まだもう数回手術必要です。
リオンは昨年結婚したばかりです。奥さんのリーズさんも必死に分からない日本語で看病の毎日。今後のとても長い回復に大金の医療費、生活費がかかると思います。どうか皆様の寄付で少しでもリオン、リーズを支えられたらと思います。有難うございます。'Updates' のタブに寄付のしかたの説明があります。
