Lemons of Love Golf Fundraiser

The AutoNation Lemons on the Links Charity Golf Outing is right around the corner on August 6th. Laurel BMW of Westmont is one of Lemons of Love (LOL) biggest fans (and sponsors) and we're raising funds for the annual golf event benefiting Lemons of Love charity.
Lemons of Love is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that creates, fills, and delivers chemo-care packages. Founded by Jill Swanson Peltier, a cancer fighter and owner of FAST Cooling in Des Plaines, IL. She created LOL after being diagnosed with stage III colon cancer and going through chemotherapy in 2014. Lemons of Love is based on the well-known expression, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” but with a twist, “When life gives you lemons – laugh out loud.”
The LOL bags are hand made by volunteer stitchers with lots of love. Jill choose special products that were essential in easing some of the short-term side effects during her own chemo treatments. Each beautiful package is filled with Organic body lotion (for dry chemo skin); Claeys Old Fashioned Lemon Drops (naturally flavored to hide get rid of the awful metallic taste); Dark Chocolate Acai (dark chocolate is nutritious and acai berries have antioxidants, fiber and heart-healthy fats); Organic Ginger Tea (for upset stomachs); a Lemons of Love water bottle (BPA Free - made in USA), a bottle of Calypso Lemonade (graciously donated by Calypso); a Lemons of Love FIGHTER silicone bracelet, superhero socks (because, let’s face it, you achieve superhero status when fighting this battle), and a "happy" picture (drawn by a child). Frequently, other items, not included here, are added as a result of exclusive donations.
It’s difficult to know how to help family, friends and co-workers who are diagnosed with cancer and going through chemotherapy. Those who donate to Lemons of Love can request to have a chemo-care package sent to a friend or loved-one. Lemons of Love will send packages two doors down, across the country and even overseas. Sending an LOL chemo-care package is a great way to show your support - from near or far.
With your help, we can bring joy to cancer / chemo patients around the globe. We have only one-month to reach our goal of 15K.
