In the last few years, LeGrand Music Studios has seen substantial growth in number of students and instructors, variety of instruments taught, and types of classes offered. Instruments we offer are guitar, violin, piano, voice, flute, ukulele, banjo, dulcimer and mandolin. Classes available include music theory, sol-feggio, notation, and compostion.
Our "top notch" instructors have a combined 193 years of teaching, and a whopping 299 years of performing between them. Their diverse musical experiences add to our ability to teach an impressive variety of styles and genres: anything from classical to bluegrass, or musical theater to rock. Comfortable and flexible in their abilities, our intructors believe in creating individualized music education for all.
At LMS, we pride ourselves in enriching the Knoxville area through our commuinity projects, including guitar ensembles and community choirs. Both are offered completely free of charge and encourage anyone with interest to join and grow in comaraderie with us as musicians and friends. We bring performances to local assisted living centers, and would love to develop this mode of outreach to include a broader audience in the area. We have goals for a youth choir, group classes, master classes and even classes for non-musicians.
Our recent growth, our incredible blessing, is also our burden: We have outgrown our space in the Fountain City Art Center. Our location is a beloved one, therefore we have a need to expand inside of the Art Center's building. We have a beautiful plan laid out; all that is lacking now is funding for the expansion. There will be space for group classes, office equipment and books, as well as more and larger private lesson studios with more sound resistant materials. We enjoy our work with the community, and look forward to having much more to offer.
