Legal Representation @ Dilley TX
Donation protected
Dilley, TX is a family detention center for asylum seekers surrendering at the border. It holds 2,400 people and is PACKED. We are a team ready to respond, but we need your help to get there!
This fundraiser is to connect detained families inside Dilley, TX with critical help by representing on credible fear interviews (CFI), the very first stage in asylum seekers’ journeys, and hearings before the immigration court for a full week in August! This is one of the highest volume CFI facilities in the country, so a week in August makes a difference in working toward the release of many.
Your donation will directly cover travel and costs for a team of 6 legal representatives and interpreters from California (Sacramento, Fresno, Los Angeles) and Chicago, IL. Detained families with representation are 11x more successful than those who do not.
We plan to post updates during our trip August 26-September 1 to show you how you made a difference.
