Living and Educational Achievement Programs Inc. (LEAP)

Dear Donors and Contributors,
LEAP is a US 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit organization. LEAP is created to promote residential and educational programs nation-wide, offering transitional and independent living support to post- secondary adults with developmental and learning disabilities and those individuals on the autism spectrum.
The primary goal is to support the growth of programs geared toward the whole person in a true community environment. LEAP will generate and receive donations, grants and gifts to provide program fee subsidies so that qualified individuals may participate in such programs.
For many young adults with disabilities, opportunities for a more engaging and active life are stymied by limited experiences with independent residential and community living. Although many are well served by publicly funded programs, others with great potential have reduced opportunity because programs are filled to capacity and have few resources to grow or innovate.
Families supporting their child's early adult life are expected to pay for programs within their means but a life-long burden of support is not reasonable. State and federal subsidies are over burdened and wait-listed. Those who can thrive well in a less restrictive environment have few opportunities to live a fuller life.
LEAP serves to unlock innovation and new program capacity by fundraising and supporting new program growth in the direction of giving young adults more successful and active experiences in their communities.
During its first year of development, LEAP is partnering with the Foundation for Successful Living (FSL - Colorado Springs, CO) and their new residential program, The Landing @ FSL which is based on three-levels of support. This program is modeled from a private commercial program in CA.
Each level enables participants to learn and adapt to decreasing needs for direct supervision.

Donations and grants can be made to a general fund to grow capacity for post-secondary adults to participate in community-based programs.
LEAP brings together the best of what a community can offer. As a nonprofit, LEAP is a "hybrid" that sponsors innovative programs and helps them get started, whether they are commercial/private providers ofservices or other nonprofit organizations.
*** Please note: All donations must be made with the understanding that LEAP's board of directors has complete control and administration over the use of donated funds.
General contributions to LEAP are eligible for tax exemption.
Thank you for your support!
Kindest Regards,
