LEANN'S STORY
After going missing on Friday, May 12, 2017, Leann was found after more than 12 hours slumped over in her car. Being in critical condition, she was transported to MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA. Doctors discovered her brain was swelling, had probably lost the use of her hands and may be in a permanent vegetative state. An MRI showed 4 areas of her brain that are non-repairable. Doctors inserted a pressure monitor to check the pressure in Leann's brain and later had to perform surgery to remove part of the back of her skull to make room for the swelling. At this point, Leann is in a coma, on a ventilator, and dialysis to prevent her kidneys from shutting down. Doctors are not even sure if and when Leann will be able to come home.
Leann's husband Shawn is constantly by her side. His employer, however, will not allow him any paid days off in order to be with his wife. The road from here on will be tough for Shawn and Jaxon, who is just 2 years old, just to take care of medical and other expenses. Jaxon doesn’t understand what has happened to his mommy and why she isn’t home.
We all know God answers prayers and performs miracles, but this family needs a little extra help keeping things together. Please donate what you can, if you can…every little bit will help.
