Leading Alcornite Under 50 Honoree

The Metro-Jackson Alcorn Alumni Chapter, Inc. proudly announces their Inaugural Leading Alcornites Under 50 Awards Celebration. This event will honor some of Alcorn State University’s most accomplished and inspirational Alumni.

On the Aug. 25th, the Metro-Jackson Alcorn Alumni Chapter will recognize and commemorate the achievements of several influential and resilient Alcornites. This is an amazing and unique platform for our professional community, current students and alumni to unite and celebrate the resilient success stories of our honorees.

Dr. Adrian Hammitte ‘08 will be honored for his academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to positively impacting the lives of those around him.

Alcorn State University was founded in 1871; therefore, as an honoree, Dr. Hammitte has committed to raising $1,871 by June 29, 2018. All donations and proceeds will go towards the development of academic scholarships for Alcorn State University.

Dr. Hammitte’s footprint includes:

- He graduated with Honors from Alcorn State University in 2008 and 2010.
- He works as a Career Development Instructor for the Office of Career Services at Alcorn State University.
- He serves as a Mentor for Alcorn State University’s SHEEO Project Pipeline Repair: Restoring Minority Male Persistence and Participation in Educator Preparation Programs.
- He served as one of the Advisors for the Gamma Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at Alcorn State University.
- He serves on the Program of Research and Evaluation for Public Schools (PREPS) Advisory Board.
- He serves as a Supervisor for Alcorn State University’s Psychology Internship Program.



Adrian is the Polemarch-elect for the Natchez Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He is a proud member of the Jefferson County Alcorn Alumni Chapter. In his spare time, he enjoys watching politics, working out in the gym, spending time with his family, and speaking to the youth.
