Howard High School Mock Trial

We are the Howard High School Mock Trial Team. On January 31, 2015, we competed in the Regional mock trial competition in Macon, Bibb County, Georgia. We placed 3rd overall and as a result of our strong showing we advanced to the District level. This year, the District level competition for our geographic region will be held in Savannah, Georgia.
Howard High School has only fielded a mock trial team for three years. Our first year, 2013, our team won two awards. Last year, 2014, our team won SEVEN awards and advanced to District. This year, our team won FOUR awards and is on to District again.
Last year, the District competition was held in Macon, Georgia, so transportation and added expenses were not an issue. This year, our team will have to travel more than 150 miles to compete. With the trip comes much expense. The mock trial organization will pay for hotel rooms for the students, but we need additional rooms for chaperones (4 coaches) and for the parents who will be transporting students (3 sets of parents). Additionally, we would like to be able to cover the gas for the parents who are driving and be able to purchase food for the team. We are trying to cut down costs by having the parents stay at a hotel several miles away that is will be approximately $100 less per night than the hotel in which the students are staying.
Howard High School was the ONLY public school in our region to advance to District level competition. Our students have worked extremely hard this school year to learn the rules of evidence, courtroom procedure, relevant law to the case, and courtroom etiquette.
We want our students to be able to continue their successful season, but they cannot do so without funding. That is where you come in. Any amount you can donate towards our campaign would be welcomed and greatly appreciated. Please help these kids have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
