Laurie passed away on 29/3/2019, surrounded by his loving family. After 10 years of pain and suffering as a renal transplant patient with complications, things finally got on top of him. This was sudden and unexpected, coming as a shock to all.
He and his loving wife Rebecca had separated after trying their best to overcome all the challenges that life threw their way. While this was painful and hard for both of them, and especially their 5 children, they were ultimately able to come to terms with the separation and were in a good space.
Laurie's sudden death has left a messy and difficult situation for Rebecca and the kids. He had no significant assets and no funeral insurance. After moving 4000km to get back to Sydney from Perth, then having a house fire in October, Rebecca and family have already lost everything and were in the process of rebuilding their lives.
As Laurie's legal wife, next of kin, and best friend for 20 years Rebecca is now having to find the money to cover the funeral and expenses.
Rebecca had suggestions from friends to raise money via GoFundMe but has been running herself ragged to organise the funeral and field the many friends and family of both Laurie and herself.
Any money raised will go directly to covering the funeral costs and expenses. Thank you.
