Update:  Lauren has battled this insidious disease for 4 years now.  Recently re-diagnosed for the third time in March with 12 tumors in the bone throughout her body.  From clavicle, spine, hips to tibia.  This cancer travels.  She underwent radiation and is now going through different levels of chemo in addition to doing some non-traditional treatments.  And unfortunately most not covered by insurance.  At the moment she is holding her own and is living at a Sorority House at ASU and coming home when she needs to.  Trying to gain weight and enjoy a "normal" college life.  In the midst of Corona Virus.  We are now trying to raise money for a third time to continue to cover her treatments.  Cancer not only effects the patient but also the loved ones around her, sisters, friends, Mom and Dad.  It has a rippling effect that is unbridled.  And it has certainly had an economic impact on our family.  We are trying to keep up but need your help.  Please donate what you can, even if its $10.  God bless everyone and a sincere thanks for your donation, whatever that amount may be....

Lauren was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma in August 2016.  Unfortunately her diagnoses was Stage 4 cancer as it had metastasized from her right leg to other parts of her body.  Since then Lauren has undergone 14 chemo treatments and has had a surgery on her right leg to remove the tumor and most of her fibula bone.  She underwent 6 weeks of radiation treatment at Mayo Clinic last fall.  The chemo and radiation treatments were completed with good results.  Lauren attended her junior year of high school after being home schooled her sophomore year and has maintained straight A's throughout her treatment.

Recently Lauren felt a small bump on her head from an injury she had sustained in September 2018.  The small bump was initially the size of a quarter and thought to be a hematoma due to her injury.  However, the bump grew very quickly and was soon the size of a golf ball and then a baseball.  Lauren was taken to Phoenix Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma again and has recently undergone a number of tests.  So far the cancer is only located on the top of her skull and no where else.  Chemo has recommenced and Lauren recently finished her first week.

The  protocol from here on out is uncertain.  Chemo to start, which will hopefully shrink the tumor.  Then a surgery followed by radiation and more chemo.  We are consulting with Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic.  There are some new trial drugs for Ewing's Sarcoma on the horizon - mainly based on genetic sequencing.  We are hopeful that one of these trials may be the cure.

Thank you in advance for your support during this time.  Chemo has taken its toll but we look forward to getting Lauren better and through this 2nd bout with this monstrous and aggressive disease.  She will need a lot of prayers.

We appreciate your love and support.  Thank you.

Love, Mike, Shannon, Lauren, Anna & Gracie
