Lauren’s Lemon
I have never written one of these letters before, so here it goes. On March 12th of this year my only child, Lauren, 24, was diagnosed with Medulloblastoma (pediatric cancer) in her brain. Lauren underwent brain surgery where at that time they took a lemon sized tumor from the right part of her cerebellum. Needless to say this was devastating news to all of us. But my daughter, who is staying so extremely positive even after Dr. told her he has removed the tumor and the tumor, was grade 4 cancer, Lauren said “ok what’s next”. This is a testament to how my daughter is handling this fight and how high her spirits and positivity remain and is so inspiring to myself and others. After 2 MRI’s, Petscan and spinal tap at this time she has no tumors, nothing spread and no cancer cells in her spinal fluid. Praise Jesus!
However, with this type of cancer it will grow back after 5-6 weeks. She will be undergoing 6 weeks of chemo and radiation 5 days a week at Mass General Hospital. Her chemo treatment plan is as follows… She will have 1 month off and then 6 cycles every 4 weeks of in patient for 4-5 days to be watched closely. Her treatment should end by December.
As of right now her medical bills to date have been about $8,000.00, and so much more to come. Can I count of you to sponsor or donate to help her fight?
We will be holding a benefit for Lauren Gosciak on Saturday June 1st at the Moose Lodge in Enfield, CT (our home town for 17 years) from 1pm-7pm.
Anything will be greatly appreciated and will help tremendously.
