LAUNCH

Help us provide laptops and small prizes to LAUNCH High School Entrepreneurship PITCH COMPETITION winners!

LAUNCH works in local Hamilton County Public schools, providing a hands-on learning experience for students to discover entrepreneurship and how to start a business.

We conduct classes during the school day by partnering with a teacher and sharing class time 2-days a week. Students form their own groups, brainstorm, come up with their own business ideas, and create a prototype and simple business plan, including branding, marketing, pricing, and distribution plans.

At the end of the semester, each student group pitches their idea, competing against all the other groups from all the other schools (this semester there are 14 groups from 3 schools competing).

For the past 4 competitions, we have been able to give away laptops or tablets to the top 3 groups, which has been a huge motivator for the kids! Even in this digital age, many of our students don't have access to computers at home, and very rarely at school. The laptops are great resources for them as they finish high school and go on to college or start a business!

So this year we NEED YOUR HELP to purchase the prize packages for the competition. Help us reward the students for their hard work and entrepreneurial spirit. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to the students.

Thank you so much to those who have donated already! Please help us by getting the word out there.

Right now, students are in the thick of the business planning process at East Ridge High School, Tyner Academy, and Central High School!
We are just finishing up mission statements, branding, and marketing, and about to start learning about our financials!

Just wanted to leave you all with a few quotes of what students thought about the program and the pitch competition last semester.

"I liked how y'all believed in us and pushed us to do our best."

"I learned how to work with my team, even when I disagreed with them."

"I learned how to feel confident. You really have to know what you're talking about and be confident in it before you get up there and pitch."

"I learned the steps is takes to start a business. There's lots of steps and I learned it's important to know all your numbers and financials before you start."
