TRAGEDY STRIKES WHEN LEAST EXPECTED.....A CALL TO BATTLE STATIONS!!
In an instant Larry and Sharon Frayseth became PARAPLEGICS FOR LIFE!
Larry was a shipmate on the USS Wasp,and is a life time Association member. On their way home from having dinner one early Minnesota evening, Larry and his wife, Sharon, were turning into their driveway when a pick-up truck, driven by a 16 YEAR OLD teenager, came from behind them, at an estimated speed of seventy miles per hour and in an instant ..........
....their lives changed forever!!
The driver of the pick-up experienced minor injuries.
Larry’s spinal cord was severed and he is now paralyzed from the chest down; Sharon’s spinal cord was crushed but not severed. She has severe nerve damage and will be on pain medication the rest of her life. To make things even worse, they are separated in two different facilities. Sharon travels for an hour and a half each way, twice a week, to spend two hours with Larry before he has to be hoisted back into bed.
Their medical expenses are astronomical, as you can imagine. Medicare is minimal and due to many medical complications, that have set in, Larry requires special support.
He is bed-ridden and has to be hoisted out of bed to be put into a wheel chair. The wheel chair is custom built and has a molded seat to accommodate his pelvic area injuries.
This is where YOU come in. The USS WASP ASSOCIATION, a 501 (c) 19 Corporation, has initiated a fund raising campaign to buy the wheel chair for Larry.
