Larry’s Memorial Fund

Donation protected

On Tuesday, March 7th at 5PM, Larry was whisked away to an Operating Room to have 1 of 2 surgeries on his brain. The 1st was an attempt to remove a tumor that was found. Unfortunately the tumor is located in a place that is inoperable. Leaving us with the option to install a shunt to drain his cranial fluid and take a biopsy of the mass to determine whether or not it is cancerous.

A day after surgery Larry started to respond with jokes and flipping off the Dodgers fans amongst us. He was able to walk with assistance of a nurse and walker. Things were looking up. On the third day his health took a turn and he was rushed back to surgery to alleviate an issue with the shunt that was installed and to pinpoint the cause of an infection that was causing high temps and blood pressure.

This all brings us to the now, 2 weeks after this whole ordeal started. Larry is looking better everyday and regaining his strength and working on his motor skills and brain functions at an acute rehab facility. He is now on the mend, with that comes a host of other issues.

As many of you know, for the last few years Larry has been taking care of his bedridden wife, Sandy, who has Parkinson’s disease. In typical Larry fashion he gets up and goes to work, while Dolly (in home care nurse) tends to Sandy during the day, then he comes home and takes care of Sandy and their house. It’s a monumental task for anyone.

Now to why we’re doing this whole crowdfunding thing. Many of you have asked how you can help, and your contributions are truly needed right now. Larry has a long road ahead. We’re not sure when he’ll be able to return to work. This means for the time being he is without income and they both are going to require 24 hour care until he can get back to normal. As with any sudden ailment the medical bills come swift and they come hard.

Here’s what we’re looking to use your contributions for:
Sustain their in home care.
Sustain their lively hood for the next 6 months. While we figure all this out.
Take care of any excess medical bills that won’t be covered by his insurance. Two week stay in an ICU is not cheap as they say.

We understand times are tough and appreciate any amount big or small.

Big shout out to everyone who has reached out, come into the hospital, shot him a text, voicemail, etc... He’s a man truly blessed with wonderful people in his life.

We look forward to and hope that we’ll be updating you all with nothing but positive news going forward.
