Dear friends, family, and community- this GoFundMe account has been created for a very special family who is currently in great need of our prayers and financial assistance.
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, after two long weeks without her daughter, Makayla Lane, accompanied by her mother, Tina Lane, began the journey to pick up Makayla’s three-year-old daughter, Kelly Williams. Upon arriving at a court ordered location to make the custody exchange, Kelly’s father and paternal grandmother, of York County Pennsylvania, never showed up at the mutually agreed upon location. The Lane family proceeded to contact the local authorities, and after much avail they eventually agreed upon carrying out a welfare check. On Sunday April 23, 2017, while conducting the check of home, authorities found the bodies of both adults in question, as well as 3-year-old Kelly Williams. Kelly was a victim of a murder-suicide pact that appears to have been agreed upon by her father and grandmother, following the custody dispute over the minor child.
This is a tremendous loss for Makayla, Tina and Jason Lane (Makayla’s Mother and Father), Jacob Lane (Makayla’s brother), and all of those who loved little Kelly so dearly. The unimaginable has affected this family. Every mom’s worst nightmare has become a reality for Makayla.
While facing the greatest tragedy of her life, Makayla is now faced with having to bury her baby girl. No parent should ever have to do that. Makayla and her family desperately need help in bringing Kelly home and planning her funeral arrangements.
