If you haven't read the newest update we have exciting news! Fundraising for Mexico treatment was successful! Sean is going to Mexico!! We are still raising money for the family as they juggle many current and future medical expenses. Our new shirt campaign is up and running until March 23rd. That means you have just 2.5 weeks to snag one of these awesome designs! https://www.bonfire.com/store/this-is-my-cancer-fundraiser The proceeds will go straight to the Lalonde family, and the quality of these shirts is phenomenal! As you may have heard, the Lalonde family has received some bad news. Sean has just been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, an advanced non-operable liver cancer. He is currently being treated at KGH where his doctors are working to manage his pain and to chart a course of action. As a pastor in our community, Sean, along with his wife Valerie and their five children, Jenna 16,  Millah 11 Lennon 9, Quinton 7, and Jovie 5, need help to make this Christmas season as normal as possible for the kids. In the event of a situation where doctors are saying that modern medicine cannot help him, the family may pursue additional holistic nutritional therapies. The costs associated with this are not covered by medical insurance, and there will be several different types of therapies that Sean will need to undergo.  We are raising the money to take pressure off the family financially during this difficult time and to provide support for maximizing the opportunities to beat this cancer. The money raised will be used in the following ways: -medical treatments and medication not covered by  insurance  -groceries  -childcare  -hot school lunches  -gas  -travel as required  -unforeseen costs In addition to giving monetarily. we are organizing meals for the family including dinners, kids school lunches, and snacks for the hospital; To sign up please visit:  https://mealtrain.com/z989g6 We are believing and praying for healing, we invite you to join and pray in agreement with that! Consider the Greek word sozo, which has been translated in the New Testament the following ways: Save or Saved. Whole. Healed. We are praying for a miracle so Sean will be made whole again. We thank you for supporting and showing your love a family who does the same for our community!

March 4

It has been awhile since I've been able to update this page. If you ever wanting current info please visit our web page.

What a week last week was. Where to start.
Thank you for praying, loving, supporting, and standing with us. Seeing so many of you in your shirts lifts our spirits. This week was the hardest, yet we felt so carried.

On Thursday Sean had a scheduled oncology appointment. It started as it always does with him giving us very bleak news and saying things were worse and it’s only a matter of time till Seans liver fails and he dies.

I asked him to explain in detail to me the MRI. And he did. What is crazy is that there isn’t much cancer and the cancer hasn’t grown. He did not think this was a good thing nor did he dwell on it but went on to say there is so much cirrhosis and nodules that Seans liver is continuing to decrease in strength and will fail in the next month or two. I asked him is all the cancer was gone would Sean be able to get a liver. He said no. Sean will never qualify for a liver transplant in Canada nor would there be a surgeon who would perform a surgery even with a donor. None of this is really new news.

Sean then got admitted into the hospital as last night he started to be confused and by the time we were at his appointment he was having a hard time forming sentences.

They did a bunch of blood work and believe Sean has hepatic encephalopathy. Usually this is caused by the liver or kidneys failing. BUT the blood tests showed that liver function had not decreased from last month and his kidneys are functioning really well. So they then believed the poisoning may be caused by an infection in his stomach. They decided to keep him in the hospital and put him on antibiotics to treat the infection and give him lactalose to clear the poison out of his system and restore his clarity.

Sean is home now! They let him go home yesterday as the test for infection in his stomach came back negative. No infection. This is great but also puzzling as they do not know what caused the hepatic encephalopathy. It has been totally corrected by Sean taking lactulose. AND I believe prayer. He is 100% back to his normal self when on Thursday he could not say Lennon’s name, thought we were in 2006 and that I was his daughter.

On Saturday Sean and I decided to have the really hard conversation with the kids. We explained that we are believing for a miracle and going to continue to fight but even if dad dies this does not mean we have failed. The thing for us is, in knowing God we know He holds the future whether here on earth or in heaven. The conversation went well and we cried together and are moving forward with great hope and anticipation in the miracles God will/has perform.

Last week Sean and I made a video explaining our plans, and costs. (Thank you Kyle for putting this together) you can see it on our web page www.prayforsean.com
Sean also has been working with Talei Cama Moroka to launch another shirt fundraiser campaign.

After filming this video, and before we could promote our new fundraiser, we found out all of our upcoming Mexico costs are covered. Including the take home package! This was accomplished through private donations and on this GoFundMe page. We did it!

Our flights are booked for March 26.
Sean and I will be going for 3weeks. The kids will be staying here. We will be returning with more home treatment for another 3months.

It is kind of hard to explain how we feel. We are so thankful. If you bought a shirt or missed out on the last shirts you can buy one of our new designs! The funds raised from this point on will go towards so many different needs, medical, dietary, supplements, and Sean's ongoing battle with cancer. Thanks for your continued support it means the world to our family.

Again we are so thankful for everyone’s love!

Thank you for all your continued prayers and support!
What a week.
We raised $5000 with our T-shirt fundraiser. Thank you to every single person who shared or bought a shirt! Can’t wait to see them on you. If you take a pic please send it to me or hashtag it #prayforseanlalonde

After my last update Sean had to get stitches to close up his wound. His blood is not clotting right so he also has been getting vitamin k shots. The hole has healed up now but he is retaining fluid on his right side by his liver.

On Monday sean had a ct scan done on his face because he’s had numbness on his right side. While in the hospital his bloodwork was drastically different/ worst then the last time it was taken so they wanted to do an ultrasound of his liver and see why.

The ultrasound showed no tumour growth since September and no change in the blood clot in his liver either. They also said his liver is still functioning well. So they were unable to explain why his blood levels had changed so much.

He has been feeling a bit better this week. His appetite has increased which is huge. He still has very little energy and because he’s not in constant pain (as he has been in the past) he has been over doing it. He tries to hangout with the kids and get stuff done around the house, this leaves him exhausted and brings some pain. So learning to pace himself is on the schedule.

He also has not been sleeping great and is up a lot during the night.

Thank you for all your love and support. We are getting closer and closer to going back to Mexico. We finally have a good routine of the home treatments and are seeing the positive effects of that so this is encouraging.

Thank you for the continued meals and groceries. This has lightened my load immensely as I have to cook three meals daily for him and three separate different meals for us, plus all his care and the daily work of caring for five kids.

Hope you all enjoy this family day wkn. Hug your families and hold them close, everyday is truly a gift.

A new month. January was a real hard month in this home. New, tough, time consuming routine, Sean not feeling well, and having a lot of pain, but we made it through. And so many times you came along side and helped us, whether through the many groceries brought to our door, the meals dropped off, friends coming and cleaning, and all of you who continue to share our story, pray for us, and support us financially. Our hearts are entering this month full.

Sean started back at Alligned Chiro with dr.Brian last Friday. Already with just three adjustments he is feeling the positive effects.
Today is the first day in a couple months he did not take a pain killer!

Yesterday Sean got his stomach drained again taking out over 6liters of fluid. This has led to him feeling quite weak and tired. The site where they did the drain as has not scanned over and continues to bleed. We may need to go into the hospital if it does not scab over tonight. It has a few times since yesterday but keeps reopening.

Thank you for all the love I always appreciate running into people or getting messages where people say we are on their hearts and minds. It means so much to me to know so many of you truly care about our family.

Jan 24

Thank you thank you thank you. I have been overwhelmed with the love of those who have reached out since our update on practical ways to help. It is humbling to ask for help but I am always reminded people can’t help if they do not know how. So thank you. The kids came home and acted as though they’d never seen food before after a grocery delivery from friends. I swear they haven’t been going hungry I just hadn’t done a big grocery shop in awhile. Lol.

Sean’s procedure went well yesterday. His doctor put 4more elastics around varicies and wants to go in again in 6-8weeks. She thought he will probably not need more but wants to stay on top of it. She also thought he may have an infection so he is having a bunch of tests done for that.

Sean's throat is now very sore and this is making it hard for him to eat. His appetite still is not great either.

Also TODAY we are launching our T-shirt fundraiser! Sean did extensive research and found this company that will partner with us for 3 WEEKS. They have really nice quality shirts. If we sell 2500 shirts we will have all the funds for Sean to go back to Mexico for treatment. If every person on this page buys one shirt we will be almost half way there! Thank you for all your support.
PLEASE share this fundraiser with your friends I know together we can do this. If you want me to send you a copy of the link PM me. www.bonfire.com/store/this-is-my-cancer-fundraiser/
