Lalibela Medical Centre
Donation protected
My dad (Trevor Parsons) met Adisu in Ethiopia 7 years ago, in a town called Lalibela where health care is almost non existent. Its not unknown for people to walk or be carried on a stretcher for 3 days to get medical help. Unimaginable to us!
My dad had come across a young farmer dying of gangrene and felt so moved he paid for treatment. To this day he doesn’t know if that young man lived or died but the next day he met Adisu who was just a school leaver at that time. Adisu said he wanted to become a nurse to bring health care to his town.
My dad went on to sponsor Adisu through University to get a degree in Nursing. Since then he's loaned Adisu the money and together they have built a medical centre in Lalibela where Adisuand a team of support staff will soon be giving medical care to the local community. But now its built, it needs equipping and every day that passes without the equipment is just another day of an empty building with no patients. So let's get raising money to kit this medical centre out and bring my dad’s and Adisu’s dream alive.
See www.lalibelamedical.org to read more about Adisu, my father's story, Lalibela City and what equipment we need. And every single pound you can donate will be so gratefully received and also very carefully spent to bring health and support to the farmers and their families in the Lalibela community.
