Laith's Brain Cancer Tumour Fund

On 31 May 2018, my brother Laith was diagnosed with brain cancer. He has a malignant astrocytoma tumour measuring 70.5mm x 58.5mm. It’s huge. Despite physicians saying the tumour is the size of an orange and has to be removed, they are unwilling to perform the surgery due to the high-risk nature of it.
Below is a copy of Laith’s brain scan which clearly shows the gravity of the situation:
Surgery to simply release the pressure in his skull reversed the paralysis, but unfortunately the bulk of the tumour they wouldn’t touch.
Laith is a 33-year-old Exercise and Sports Scientist who has always kept a meticulous health and fitness regimen. He has never tried drugs, never smoked a cigarette, and has been eating a purely organic and clean diet for the past decade.
Laith is passionate about his work, encouraging and motivating his clients—which also include Queensland Emergency Service men and women—to perform at their best, to make positive lifestyle choices, and to achieve their goals.
Only one surgeon in Australia has said they are willing to perform the surgery to remove the tumour. However, the surgery and medical costs associated with it will exceed $150,000 due to its high-risk nature. This fee is prohibitive, but Laith requires this critical life-saving surgery to remove the tumour as soon as possible.
After immediate surgery Laith needs to begin undergoing other treatments not currently available in Australia as soon as possible. Pursuing these treatments will cost an additional $100,000. This will cover his medical bills, economy travel and brief accommodation. Cancer drugs and treatments often have decades-long trial periods before becoming available for widespread use and Laith simply cannot wait.
Any funds raised and not used for treatment will be donated to The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
Any help and support we can get will be eternally appreciated beyond any words we could ever say and will be life-changing for Laith.
