Lahmeyer family assistance

On Monday December 3, 2018 Melissa was walking to her car in the Largo Mall parking lot.  She was holding her 6 year old son's hand when someone ran into her with their car. It pushed her down and the tire ran over her ankle. Thankfully her son was unharmed but it was pretty traumatic for them both....to say the least.

There were many witnesses and Melissa and her son had lots of help at the scene. The person that hit her left the scene but the police were able to track him down and make an arrest. In addition to fleeing the scene the driver unfortunately also had no car insurance. 

Melissa was taken to the emergency room where it was determined that she has a broken right ankle and left toe. She's swollen and bruised up and having difficulty walking etc. therefore she has been unable to open her acupuncture clinic since before the accident.

Today, December 5th, is the one year anniversary of the clinic's opening. Melissa was planning a free treatment day and an open house later in the week. Those plans are on hold for now. One day at a time. 

One to always want to help others, Melissa and her family could sure use some help now. Without health insurance, the emergency room visit and follow up care will be costly. Not to mention the loss of income.  And the holiday season is upon us! 

I have been moved to help Melissa and her family because almost a year ago I first met Melissa when she began treating me postoperatively after I had major hand surgery. She and I became fast friends and I swear I have never met a more genuine, kind, compassionate, giving person in my life. If I can help her and her family in some way during this time of need then I will have the best holiday season ever!
