Louisiana floods
Donation protected
Many of my family members needed to be evacuate from their homes due to the catastrophic flooding in Louisiana in August 2016. Some of them have flood insurance and some do not. (Some areas that flooded were not in flood zones so the home owners were not required to have flood insurance.) I started this account to raise money for my family who will need financial support to get back into their homes and start to rebuild their lives.
The campaign money raised here will be withdrawn by me and deposited into a separate checking account in my name. The money will be withdrawn from that checking account to provide supply’s (toliet paper, trash bags, deodorant, tooth brushes, cleaning supplies, etc), possibly pay for transportation of items such as donated furniture and appliances and possibly contractors from Maryland who have agreed to take a long weekend and work for free to put the houses back together, and any other services needed to rebuild the lives of multiple people in my family that have been effected by the floods. Everyone is pulling together to do what they can and it's amazing to see how we can actually help people in need even though we live so far away. Below are a list of names and pictures of my family members that are being helped by the money raised. All of my family is in Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, and St. Amant Louisiana.
