Nathan's battle against leukaemia

Donation protected
This is Nathan Villamil Pintor, of Dumaguete City, Philippines. Nathan is my bestfriend's 16 month old nephew, who is battling an aggressive type of blood cancer. I am helping my bestfriend raise funds to help support Nathan and his family in his treatment. Nathan, is just like any other baby boy with a beautiful nature, healthy and with an infectious smile. He is the ray of sunshine to his parents, Sandie and Vercilli, sister Yumi and everyone surrounding him. Nathan first suffered a high fever beginning 1st week of March 2018. His parents then took him to the hospital after a few days of not improving. He was confined in the hospital, and the initial diagnosis was dengue fever, but the Dr noticed abnormalities. He was then referred to a haematologist. On 22nd March 2018, after a few more series of tests including a bone marrow examination to further confirm Nathan’s condition, this healthy, cheeky, full of life baby boy at just 16 months old, is diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, an aggressive type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. This diagnosis has shattered Nathan’s family to the point of disbelief. Because this type of blood cancer is aggressive, so too is his treatment. Since Nathan’s diagnosis, he has undergone 4 rounds of aggressive chemotheraphy. He faces years of intensive treatment. This is just the beginning of his journey of treatment at Silliman University Medical Hospital, Dumaguete City, which would last up to 3 to 4 years. The Dr also suggested that Nathan should undergo flow cytometry analysis to understand the composition and structure of the cancer cells. With this diagnostic exam, physicians can monitor and assess Nathan’s response to the chosen mode of treatment. Nathan will undergo several tests to identify the cancer cell structure and monitor his response to the treatment. During this period, their family will need emotional, spiritual and financial support, especially at this point, where Nathan’s mother, Sandie is 8 months pregnant. The Villamil-Pintor family is humbly asking for help in any way to help support financially in Nathan’s treatment, laboratory tests and hospital stays on top of their everyday expenses. Your help will go a long way and very much appreciated. Above all, please pray God will give wisdom, guidance to the medical team to provide the necessary care to Nathan, strength and comfort to the family, no complications and for Nathan to fully recover. We will continue to update you with Nathan’s progress. We thank you for your help, and God bless your kind hearts. If you wish to get in touch with Nathan's Family, here are the contact numbers.
