Kymberli Williams Funeral Expenses and Family Fund

Kymberli Williams was our beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, and sweet friend. Our mom passed away unexpectedly on August 6th, 2019. Kym lived a busy, full life up until two weeks before she passed. Kym suffered from stage five kidney failure for the past six years, yet no matter how exhausting the dialysis appointments at 4 am got, she maintained a positive attitude and continued to live her life to the fullest. She was sure she would get the kidney she so desperately needed, and there is no one on this earth as tenacious as she was. For six short years, every day was spent dreaming about the day she would be free of illness and use her new lease on life to brighten this world even more than she already did. Every day she would eagerly say "when I get my kidney, I'll...". She never ran out of hope for her future, and was confident nothing would come between her and her healthy, happy golden years.  Our family likes to say "she may have admitted defeat, but she was never defeated".

Kym is survived by her children, Brandon and Brytni, her granddaughter, Kendall, her mother, Vicki, and her siblings, Michelle and Bryan. She will be missed most dearly by her granddaughter. She was an exceptionally loving grandparent, and maintained a relationship unparalleled in love and adoration. The only relationship stronger than Kym and Kendall's was Kym's relationship with God.

This gofundme account is set up by her children, Brandon and Brytni Grausso. Kym prepared us for what to expect with kidney failure, but we never could have expected that we would lose our very lively, able-bodied mom to a botched liver biopsy. Our mom needed the liver biopsy to determine if the rest of her body was strong enough to accept the kidney transplant she had waited so patiently for. Unfortunately,  it was the last step towards a chance at living the long life she deserved that took her away from us.

Kym spent the last two weeks of her life in the ICU at Torrance Memorial Hospital, and not a moment of her time there was spent alone. Kym's long-time friend Marlo spent every night by her bedside never giving up hope for her recovery. She remained a ray of sunshine, and explained every detail with a positive delivery,  to update us between visits. We will never forget how grateful we are to our friends and family,  who waited anxiously for her to heal. We hoped and prayed with loved ones that she would beat the odds and return home where she belongs by our side. Brytni and Kym had an agreement that if anything went wrong during her path to a kidney transplant, and if she needed to be on life support, we would give her two weeks, and if there was even a shred of hope, or a chance she could pull through, we would continue to keep her alive. The evening that Kym passed, marked two weeks on life support, and her body made it clear it was time for us to let go.

The funds we are trying to raise will go directly towards funding her celebration of life and supporting the family in their time of need. Kym's financial planning only supported her intentions to survive a kidney transplant, but the money she had saved all went to supporting her final days. Her children are now  financially responsible for her cremation, memorial services, and surviving after missing work, with no bereavement pay in the wake of a devastating and sudden loss.

We are attempting to achieve our goal in a time frame that supports our need to honor our mom, and begin to address the financial burden that has fallen on our shoulders. Every contribution will ease the overwhelming stress of paying for any expenses that have landed on our family, and allow us to grieve this tragic loss.

Thank you for your love, support, and prayers. It would help with the process of easing our pain, and allow us to heal, if we had the peace of mind of knowing we won't fall into a debt so extensive that we won't be able to recover. Food will remain on our table, a roof will stay over our heads, and we can return to a life to be lived in her image.
