Help Us Get John Home

On Tuesday, June 4th John was on a business trip in Nevada. He was driving to the job site when he realized that his right hand wasn't functioning properly, and his speech had become slurred. He was able to contact EMS and was transported to the nearest hospital, where he was diagnosed with having suffered a stroke. He was then airlifted to Salt Lake City, where he underwent an (unsuccessful) procedure to remove the clot from his brain, and that night suffered another stroke. He spent the first six days in the ICU, but has made huge leaps in his recovery and has made it to the less critical Neuro unit. He still has a long way to go in his recovery, as he still can't speak well, and does not have function of the right side of his body. The doctors are optimistic and we're hopeful that he'll be able to be discharged and sent to rehab by the end of the week or the beginning of next, but the big challenge we're facing is getting him home.

He's going to need medical transport from Salt Lake City to Coeur d'Alene, it's not covered by insurance and the cost is going to be hefty. Upwards of $25,000. For those of you who know John, (or even if you don't) he's the first guy to drop everything and help out in any way he can, and he does it without complaint and with a smile. He's worked hard his whole life to provide for his family, he's the best husband and a wonderful father. We can't begin to describe the overwhelming amount of support and love we've received during this difficult time, and for that we are forever grateful.  We do have a long, hard road ahead of us, and would be incredibly appreciative for any help that anyone could offer, thank you so, so much.
