Stroke Awareness Game

My name is Luke Rivera, I am from Los Angeles, CA and I am a senior student athlete here at the State University of New York at Fredonia for the Men’s Ice hockey team. For the past 10 years we have been raising money and playing for a great cause which we all know it as “Pink in the Rink.” Two years ago I wanted to give back more than just that and start a new tradition. This year we will be hosting the 3rd annual Stroke Awareness Hockey Game on November 9, 2018. About 9 years ago, my mother had a stroke and it had the biggest impact on her life along with my family and I. She has done so much to bounce back from it and worked really hard. She continues to give back to the community every single day and anyway she could for stroke survivors. So with a lot of hard work and planning, I have selected The Foundations of Kaleida Health to raise money and donate to again. Last year we were very fortunate to raise around $10,000! Over the past two years, so many generous friends and family have helped raise over $20,000 and we could not be more thankful for that! This year we hope to have another huge impact on peoples’ lives by donating to Kaleida Health. We will be wearing specific special red jerseys supporting strokes for the cause. I know that we are all very excited about it and looking forward to playing for such a great cause. Any donations are extremely appreciated.
