Callies Medical Expenses

This page is for my neice Callie, who yesterday  became oddly ill. At first it was thought she was fighting off a stomach virus and in the middle of sleeping it off. That thought quickly changed when she rolled off of the couch and didn't wake up. She was unresponsive. She was transferred from Poplar Bluff ER to Le Bonheur Childrens Hospital because Callie had a bleed inside her brain. We were informed that Callie has what's referred to as an AVM. It's a long medical term that means she has a malformed blood vessel that was located in the lower part of her brain. This ticking time bomb decided to go off and rupture yesterday. This increased her cranial pressure causing her brain stem to herniate through the base of her skull. We were told the chances of survival were slim at best and with survival chances of neurological deficits were extremely high. They planned on putting a catheter in her head to relieve pressure, however when they attempted this Callie went into cardiac arrest. She did this 2 more times through the night before the staff was able to stabilize her. The neuro doc came in and was able to get the catheter in place. Her attending doc got a central iv line in place and performed some tests. The results came in and the doc was surprised and happy. She believes Callie is fighting to stay here. But this is a minute by minute thing. All prayers and donations are appreciated for my sweet 7 year old neice as she fights for her life. The donations will go to her parents for medical expenses and living/travel expenses as they are staying in Memphis to be with their baby girl❤
