Help Build KTG's West Side Story Orchestra

Kingsport Theatre Guild (KTG) is proud to be presenting a musical theatre masterwork, West Side Story, as the start of their 2019-2020 season! This production will be a landmark for the Tri-Cities, as the show hasn’t been done in our area since 1989. Because of the monumental importance of the event, we are raising funds to build an orchestra that is 23 players strong, and we need your help to make this dream come to fruition. As the music director of the show, I'm starting this GoFundMe to raise a portion of the funds that we require. Any amount helps!
What this orchestra does for the community:
- Live music in theatre is an art that is becoming rarer, and we want to combat that by building an orchestra that enables us to perform this music the way it was intended.
- KTG often has live music featured in their shows, but this will be the largest ensemble ever put together, and represents the growth of the music community in our region.
- KTG bands have typically played on a volunteer basis. However, for this show, we are offering a paid career opportunity to our orchestra members!
