Help me go to SIG college!

My name is Kristian Gerrish. I am an 11 year old homeschooler from Beddington & Southwest Harbor, Maine. 
I have recently discovered an opportunity to attend the Summer Institute for the Gifted at the University of Miami. I am very excited and strive to learn more by taking courses of my current interest. I have applied and signed up for 4 courses they are: Mindfulness & Meditations, Digital Journalism, Nuclear Waste: A Hot Topic, and Inventor + Engineer = Inventioneering! It is a 3 week program in late July 2018. I would fly to Miami and stay as a residential student in the dorms.

I am writing in hopes to obtain a donation from yourself or your business to help me reach a $5,000 -$6,000 goal. The total cost of the residential program is $3,170.00. I am asking for the additional funds that would cover textbooks, supplies, a laptop, digital camera (required for digital journalism) and any other necessities.

This will be the opportunity of a lifetime to further my education. I am looking forward to working hard, learning more about journalism as I love to write stories, and enjoying many new friendships with other gifted kids!
