Our beautiful, beloved Kristi has been quietly dealing with some health "adventures," as she wisely says. If you know Kristi then you also LOVE Kristi and we are inviting you to support her during this challenging time.
It's time to bring together and share with the many communities of which Kristi is an *integral* part that she is experiencing liver failure as the result of two overlapping autoimmune conditions: primary biliary cholangitis and autoimmune hepatitis. Now, this is where things get confusing. Since it is a cross diagnosis, the doctors are having a difficult time treating her. She has truly been having an adventure—being sent to different hospitals and specialists who have been trying different medications in an attempt to create a plan of care. Kristi has had to completely stop working and is in the process of being added to the donor list for a liver transplant. Thankfully, she has had some insurance coverage through the past few months, but because she had to stop working, her coverage may soon be dropped. We are creating a COMMUNITY-SPONSORED health fund to offset some of her rising out-of-pocket expenses, as well as to help her begin additional supportive treatments for a more COMPREHENSIVE approach to her healing journey.
Kristi is, of course, remaining positive and optimistic. With our support, we are confident she will be able to triumph over these health issues, heal, and return to full vibrancy. However, it is absolutely urgent that we raise funds to help support her immediately; there is no time to waste. No donation is too small ~ please contribute what you can and send some loving energy to our dear, wonderful, and one-of-a-kind, Kristi. Let us shower her with love from all directions as to be in her presence is to feel seen and loved!

For transparency purposes: this campaign was organized by Mallorie, Kristi's cousin in New York, and Sheerlie, one of Kristi's many friends, in California. All funds raised will be transferred to Kristi's grandmother, Consuelo, so that she can hand-deliver it to Kristi on an as-needed basis as determined by Kristi herself such that Kristi does not need to go to the bank every time she needs money, as she has difficulty leaving the house. The funds raised will help her pay for conventional medical treatments (which are currently just trying to keep her stable) as well as to supplement with healing and balancing alternative treatments to her choosing (such as acupuncture, nutrition counseling, homeopathy, etc.).
