Kristen Maez Brain Surgery

On Friday May 4, Kristen suffered a seizure and collapsed while bartending at Otra Vez. Upon being rushed to the hospital via ambulance they discovered swelling in her brain- thought to have originated from the fall. After doing an initial CT scan and finding a mass, they preformed a MRI and found a tumor between her brain and skull, called a meningioma. 
Kristen will undergo surgery soon to have the tumor removed. While we are praying for the best possible scenario to be that the doctors are able to remove all of the tumor, there is a chance that if it is unable to be completely removed because of the location, Kristen will need to undergo radiation.
In addition to the emotional, mental, and physical taxation of this sudden news, Kristen and her fiancé Brent are now preparing for the financial burden that the surgery, recovery, and time off work will bring. 

Kristen is one of the most caring and selfless individuals we know. She is known to go above and beyond for everyone- never expecting anything in return. Let’s show her how much we all appreciate everything she’s done for us over the years.

Her recovery time will be extensive, and medical bills are already becoming overwhelming. We are asking for your help to ease her burden, and to show her that even though this journey has only just begun, she will always have our support.
