Kings Park Heritage Museum
Donation protected
The Kings Park Heritage Museum in Kings Park NY is funded completely by the generosity of the community and run by volunteers of all ages. It is the brainchild of Leo Ostebo, my grandfather and former Kings Park High School teacher, who has dedicated the last 20 years of his life to educating the town by maintaining and growing the museum.
The Kings Park Heritage Museum started as one room at RJO Intermediate School and now has over eight rooms highlighting some aspect of the town's rich history. It is truly a community landmark.
The museum also offers internship programs to Kings Park kids of all ages, which is a great addition to thier resumes and teaches them about the town's history. This program was a huge part of my life growing up too and want to see the museum flouish for generations.
This is what inspired me to start this page to help secure funds for the museum and future museum projects. Most notably, we would like to create an art room to display the work of the community's artists past and present.
This is an outlet for Kings Park alumnae, townspeople, history lovers in general to give a little to a museum that has given so much to us. Anything you can donate will help preserve this community landmark. All money will go to Leo Ostebo for the Kings Park Heritage Museum.
Thank you.
