Kowanyama Medical Evac Support Fund
Donation protected
There was a crowd of over 50 mourners gathered when a vehicle smashed all the way through a home in Kowanyama , an aboriginal community on western Cape York about 10.30am on Friday morning.
One person died at the scene, and dozens were injured, many critically. Over a 18 people have been evacualted by air amulance to Townsville and Cairns. They and the loved ones who accompanied them came with nothing.
They have no clothes, no toiletries. Nothing. And they are hundreds of kilometers from home.
We ugently need your donations to get them a few essetials, and to help them to survive the aftermath of this horrible incident. Please donate what you can to help these people in their hour of need.
Tania Major is a respected indiginous spokepserson, orginally from Kowanyama, and many of the injured are her cousins and other family members.
She will receive these funds directly and then use them to purchase the required clothes, toiletries and other essentials before delivering them to the people in need.
