Kodiaks For Inclusion

Students at Immaculate Conception School along with our Parent Support Group are on a mission to build an inclusive playground and in turn an inclusive community. The aim of inclusive design is to have a playground that’s accessible not only to children with mobility challenges but also parents or grandparents pushing a stroller, maneuvering a wheelchair or anyone using a walker. The existing equipment is anywhere from 3 to 20 years old and surrounded by pea gravel. We want our students, friends and family to have access to the equipment to play together.  
Everyone deserves an opportunity to join in and play. Inclusive playgrounds offer play experiences for everyone; the chance to be involved with one another, to make new friends, to be encouraged, to overcome a challenge, to learn compassion and empathy.
To make our vision a reality, we have launched an ambitious campaign to raise $100,000 some of which we hope will come through various grants, community donors, sponsors, and partners. We would love to break ground in Spring 2017.
